Welcome to my musings. If you happen to stumble upon this and you’re not a mother (or father), find something else better to do with your life. Do yourself a favour, go check out all the other wonderful blogs out there, because -repeat after me- mother/father-hood consumes you and you wouldn’t want to read about someone being consumed.
If you are, fortunately or unfortunately, a mother (or father), you should read this because you can vicariously live through me to know what it’s like to have three beautiful children, after which you may secretly gloat because (a) good thing you don’t have three kids!, (b) good thing you don’t have three kids back to back!, (c) what’s the big deal about having three kids, you have ___________ (insert number more than three here) and you’re absolutely lovin’ it! Or unless you’re Kate (or Jon) or Mr & Mrs Duggar. Then you’re already famous and have your own reality tv show and you’d be too busy running after your kids that you probably just give me a smirk (or a kind smile, depending on who you are) – what? only three kids? Bah!
You should read it because I have the three most wonderful babies I’ve ever known and I had them CONSECUTIVELY. Today as I write, Ben is three, Becks is turning two and Nat has only seen daylight for eight weeks. Ben is the most drop-dead gorgeous hunk you’d ever meet in the universe and when he grows up, he will break so many hearts with his looks that I’d be featured in Glamour for birthing the next Hugh Jackman in the history of mankind. Becks has the most doleful, soulful and saccharine eyes you will ever find in a girl. And coupled with the pout that will give Betty (Boop, not the one in Archie) a run for her money, she’s probably going to get away with almost anything in life. And Nat. Oh my Nat. He’s an angel that just descended from heaven and into my arms – what can I say? Another beautiful baby that gurgles and smiles to remind me time and again the reason I want babies.
So you should read my blog because it will be about these three most lovely people in my world.
