This production really couldn’t have come at a better time. We don’t know if hazy days are really over – and will never again return – but it’s a good time to reflect about what we can all do to help save the environment.
And what better way to drive the message home to our little ones than through story telling!
Hey Little Mousedeer! is a drama-musical by I Theatre which explores the challenges that the Little Mousedeer and his friends face in the forest. The jungle creatures find out about jungle fires and the devastating consequences for all the inhabitants of the jungle. Through a carefully interwoven selection of fascinating and fun folk tales, the clever mousedeer and friends take us on a journey of discovering our region’s colourful heritage and teach us valuable lessons about saving the environment, bravery and facing the consequences of one’s own actions.
The production is recommended for 3 to 14 years old.
*Giveaway*
I Theatre is giving away two tickets (worth $56) to the drama-musical on 27 July (2.30pm) to Hey Little Mousedeer! for one reader of this blog! Leave a comment telling me how you kept well during the haze season, together with your name and email address, and we’ll be randomly picking one winner!
Giveaway closes on 20 July 2013.
P/S: I’m bringing my two older kids to learn a thing or two from the little mousedeer himself about saving the environment, thanks to I Theatre who also sponsored our tickets! I shared about how we kept well in an earlier post here, and have been thinking of ways to educate the kids about forest fires and the devastation they bring, besides showing them news and Youtube vids. Again I say, this production couldn’t have come at a better time!
Results of the giveaway: The random number generator picked Akila as the winner of the 2 tickets for the 2.30pm show on 27 July! Congrats, and a big thank you to all who participated! Thanks for sharing how you kept well in the haze. I picked up a few tips from all who shared.
You can still get tickets from Sistic and catch the production!

We stayed indoors, and used loads of essential oils for those with stuffy noses. The kids stayed home… and when I had to go out (we couldn’t get N95s) I covered my nose and mouth with a wet cloth! Thanks for the giveaway!

We stayed home mostly – by the time we were back from holiday, all masks and air purifiers were out of stock so yeah, we just stayed home and played games with the kids 🙂

Thanks for hosting yet again.
During the hazy period, we kept the windows closed 24/7 with our air conditioning switched on thru out the 2 super hazy days.To pump up the children’s immunity, I made homemade lemon water and also gave lots of fruits and more vegetables.
Thanks for hosting the giveaway.
During the haze days, we drank a lot of water, and stayed indoors to do arts and crafts.

Thanks to Grandpa and my hubby , we were well-prepared for the hazy situation : Grandpa supplied the masks ( kids sized too !) and daddy made sure that the purifierS followed the kids wherever they are. My sanity ( while being cooped up at home with 2 kids) was preserved by a cocktail of Dora, Bubble guppies and my treasure chest of stickers.
During the haze, we minimised our times outdoors, stocked up our masks and wore them when we needed to be outdoors. Our two purifiers were on 24/7, and our doors and windows shut 24/7. When it got too hot and stuffy in the living room, we moved our children, their toys, books, art n craft materials into their bedroom and turned on the aircon and fan. We generally enjoyed our time together as a family. A few mealtimes were also spent in the aircon room, since our living room is not airvonditioned. I think our boys thought it was such a special treat to be able to eat in their bedroom!
Thanks for hosting the giveaway! So glad that the hazy days are over and back to outing days again!
We closed all doors and windows, turned on both of my sharp plasma cluster purifiers, make sure my children drink plenty of water. I also sneaked out when weather was better to stock up on alot of fresh and dry food all because with the hazy days, I wanna make sure my children are fed healthily and not starved. we also have to do alot of indoors games so my elder 3 yr old is entertained. 🙂
Thanks for hosting the giveaway. During the haze days, we loaded up on fresh fruits and veg to keep our immunity high. We also turned on our air purifier and Essential Oil Diffuser when we were kept indoors. They helped tremendously.
