Just like that, overnight, my darling Becks has acquired the amazing ability to speak in complete sentences. Where once upon a time she was just saying two-word phrases (I want, don’t want, berries, poo-poo), she can now bark orders complete with the signature close-eyes-for-two-seconds-to-tell-you-I-mean-business look.
Crayons and sharing
Becks: I want to draw
Ben: I also want to draw (proceeds to take crayons)
Becks: (snatches crayons from Ben) Mei mei want to draw!
Me: (Ben whining in the background) Hey, hey, hey, share the crayons, please.
Ben: Mei mei share with me…
Becks: (still holding the crayons) No, kor kor SHARE! (runs away with crayons)
~~~
Don’t do that again
Becks: (having just spilt soup on the coffee table while prancing around) You don’t do that!
Me: Aunty cleans up the mess. She should tell you ‘don’t do that’…
Becks: Aunty, DON’T DO THAT AGAIN! Mei mei angry!
~~~
Unfinished business
Me: (Becks walks in while I’m expressing milk) Yes?
Becks: Mama, what are you doing?
Me: Expressing milk for di di
Becks: Are you done??

I’m complaining (and worried) that the 15month old going on 15 years old doesn’t even bother to attempt to form basic words. He only goes Mamamamaaamamaaaa… when he’s crying and yelling, and somehow during those times, it’s hard to actually feel warm and fuzzy or think that he’s referring to me! đŸ™‚
He just points: UNH!
And points some more (when I ignore him, after telling him that he should tell Mummy what he wants, instead of being a Maharajah wanna be): UUUUUUNNNHHHHHH!!!
And then ARGGHHH!!! at the top of his voice. It’s amazing how much power lungs of that size can emit.
Then the husband tells me: Be careful what you wish for. When he starts talking, you’ll be wishing he would stop!
And he cites examples about the wondering why he won’t walk at 12mths and now complaining that he’s running everywhere.
I better enjoy the UNHs now while they are still that – before it becomes to NONONO!
Haha! The dilemma of a mother: do we want our children to grow up or not? đŸ™‚ I assure you, he will soon rattle non stop!
Thanks for adding me blog to your bloglist. I have just created one and added yours too!
It is amazing how much two-year old can talk nowaways. I am still counting words for my 17-month old.
Looks like the younger one is usually more bossy haha!
Soon she will start talking. Non stop! Get ready!
